Hurricane Florence

My Dear Readers

I live in central North Carolina and so will feel the effects of hurricane Florence very soon. That means I may lose power for a week or longer. If this happens, I won’t be doing a post on Sunday. This will be the first time that I haven’t done a weekly post since the inception of this blog in September 2011. But in the event that I cannot get a post out, I wanted to give you two different tools to use in times of chaos. These are not my tools, but ones I learned from elsewhere and forgive me for not having the sources at hand to share with you.

First, if you are feeling stressed or anxious, you can do this exercise which will help calm you. This is from the tapping community.

  1. Sit or lie comfortably.
  2. Cross your left ankle over your right ankle.
  3. Extend your arms out in front of you and place the backs of your hands together.
  4. Cross your right hand over your left hand so that you can now clasp your hands together. If done correctly, you now have your right wrist laying on top of your left wrist.
  5. Now rotate your clasped hands under and up to your chest. Elbows are down and your clasped hands are close to your heart area.
  6. Gently allow your tongue to rest on the roof of your mouth.
  7. Now just breathe and enjoy the hug that you are giving yourself.

A dear friend showed me this and I do it often especially if I cannot fall asleep at night due to a racing mind. It works with the energetic meridians in your body.

Second, this is a meditation to help you overcome your fears.

  1. Close your eyes and think about a fear that you have.
  2. See it in your mind’s eye and answer these questions:
  3. What does your fear look like?
  4. What shape is it?
  5. How tall or wide is it?
  6. Does it have a texture?
  7. What color is it?
  8. Does it have a smell?
  9. Take a good look at it.
  10. Then wipe the slate clear and start this process all over again, once again seeing your fear and answering the same questions. Then wipe the slate clear.
  11. Repeat this process at least 6 times or until your fear has transformed or disappeared.

The point of this exercise is to see your fear. Because once you really look at your fear, you will realize that it is not as powerful as you once thought. This exercise came from one of my shaman friends and again, I apologize that I don’t have the source at hand.

I hope that one or both of these will help you in the coming days. We all can do our part to counteract the fear in this world with love. But it begins with each of us working on our own stuff. And the more balanced each of us can be, the better we can serve the world.

The Awakening Has Begun

You are on course

To expand your consciousness

And to continue to awaken

To your true nature.

Empowered with love

And through love.

One with All of Creation.

Dear One, the process of awakening has been occurring for many years across this plane. The purpose is for all of those courageous enough to embody at this time to become more aware of their true nature. You are already enlightened beings who were willing to give up that memory for a short time so to learn and grow here upon this plane. In doing so, your enlightenment has expanded and allowed the collective consciousness to grow through you and your experiences here upon this physical plane.

As the shift begins to quicken, so too will your opportunities to see your life more clearly. You will begin to look through your heart rather than through your mind. Both are necessary in order to exist here upon this plane, but the heart has been dormant long enough on your journey forward. By opening it, you will experience more freedom in your daily life and more clarity in your interactions throughout your day.

This is a time that has been anticipated for eons as you have slowed your forward progress in past generations. But the time is now for you to better understand who you truly are and the true nature of your existence here with the many lessons provided you in this lifetime. The purpose of these words and the writings of many others is to plant seeds to help you to move past your fears and move into loving relationship with the All That Is.

As the shift continues to accelerate, the sensitivities of many will be tested as the spiritual climate upon this plane continues to change. Many are not ready or prepared to move forward and will wish to slow down the progress. Others may appear to be doing this but in reality, are playing a role that they agreed to play in the expansion of the collective consciousness. Both groups require your loving attention, for judgment will not suffice.

Love supersedes fear, is more powerful than fear, and when expressed with pure intent will help greatly in this forward movement. How another responds to that gift of love you offer does not matter to you. The important task is to create a climate of love across this physical plane as you continue to open your heart.

Love will brush away the mist that has been created by fear so that you may see more clearly. That which you imagined so powerful will shrink in size as you see its true nature. The movement is not to eradicate dark completely upon this physical plane. For this plane exists in duality and so both light and dark will continue to coexist. The difference will be in the neutrality between both as you disempower the fear and darkness that has chained you for so long.

In time, you will be able to observe with detachment any attempts fear makes to ensnare you. Instead of feeling the rise of fear in your belly, you will be able to send out love from your heart. This will shed light on the darkness and disempower it as it attempts to take hold on you as it did in the past.

This process includes the darkness you feel within your own self, as all have the duality existing within them. Accept that shadow self and send it love. Reflect upon how it may have served you in the past and how it might serve you in the future with some alteration and moderation.

You, Dear One, are poised to take flight as you have not yet experienced on this physical plane. Embrace these changes that are coming. Embrace the love that surrounds you. Embrace the love that fills your very being. And understand that no offering of love is too little or too late. For remember that time truly does not exist but in your mind.

Be of love.

Curiosity

How do you walk through your world?

Do you question what you see

With curiosity?

Or are you so frozen in your mind

That you can not see through the fog

Created by that repetitive way of thinking?

Dear One, are you so imprisoned by your mind that you cannot see past a certain way of viewing the world? Does fear cloud your vision enough that you do not pose the questions ‘Why’ or ‘Why not’? Are you stuck in repetitive thinking, unable to take a clear view of what is happening around you?

How do you move through your day? Do you assume that those you meet are a certain way because of past experiences? Or do you allow yourself to walk with an open mind, listening to your inner voice, your gut, your intuition? Do you take everything at face value or do you delve deeper with the acknowledgment that things may not be exactly as they initially appear to you?

The world and all of its creatures are constantly changing, in flux with the expansion of the Universe. All are in motion, regardless of the illusion of appearing static. If you could see life at the molecular or atomic level, you would be more aware of the constant vibration of all things. And movement allows for change, within and around you.

Dear One, forward movement requires motion. For this reason, it is helpful to you if you allow yourself to consciously take steps every day in a new direction. This could mean altering your daily routine with just a minor change, but enough that requires you to be mindful of what you are doing, or where you are going.

By doing this you are allowing yourself to move away from fear. For if a new direction requires your presence, you are forced to step outside of your mind where fear constantly holds you back. And as you make small changes in your daily routine, you will become more curious about what you see, who you meet or how you feel?

Do not assume that you are the same person today that you were yesterday, for you are not. Each day with its experiences changes you. You are stronger and one step further upon your path this day than the last. This is the same for all of creation and since all are connected, individual growth is felt by all.

As you begin to make small changes, allowing your mind to be more open, synchronicity will have more opportunity to guide you forward. It occurs more often than you realize. But as you allow curiosity to lead you forward, you will be in a more receptive state to be aware of the synchronicities in your life.

Being more aware of your place in the world, if only in a small part of it, will begin to shift you from that prison of your mind. Your senses will become more finely tuned as you observe the world and interactions occurring around you.

Becoming more engaged with your environment will open up more opportunities for you as you more consciously see the ebb and flow of life around you. It begins with mindfulness, curiosity and trust that growth comes with motion, if only the smallest step forward.

Do not think you know all that you need to know. Do not allow yourself to be imprisoned by the repetitive thoughts from your mind. Instead, observe the world, allow curiosity to move you forward and see how much you can learn by taking just a small step forward every day.

Change is occurring every moment of your existence. And this includes change within you, in how you see, or feel or respond to the world around you. Trust that you will be guided forward by a gentle hand. Understand that others are filled with fear as well and that it takes courage to move forward.

Make no assumptions

For what was true in the past

May no longer be true in the present.

Move forward with curiosity without judgment.

For what you see may not be all of what is.

Allow life to unfold and guide you forward.

Gently and with loving embrace.

Curiosity is what brought you here

And what will move you forward.

Finding the Peace Within

How do you settle the chaos within?

Silence the chatter

Still the judgment

And walk forward in peace and joy?

Dear One, your journey upon this physical plane seems a constant search for peace within, in a world where chaos and disruption are ever-present. How can you find that place of peace and silence as your mind continues to engage and process all that is occurring around you?

The peace that you crave lies within your heart and not within your mind. The key is to disengage from those constant thoughts moving through your mind. How is that possible? There are many ways in which to silence the chatter. Many choose meditation while others exercise or lose themselves in a creative task. Others might seek out the peaceful environment provided by Mother Nature.

Any and all of these activities will help you find calm from the storm of thoughts bombarding you throughout your day. But these are just the first part of the journey towards the peace that you seek. For many of you have unresolved issues which require reflection. Much of the turmoil you feel is due to a way of thinking which may need further study.

Place your hand upon your heart area and breathe, quietly and deeply, allowing the stress to release from deep within where you hold it so tightly. Then begin to reflect upon the impetus for the stress that you feel. Is it really just a recent event or interaction or is it linked to a long-held desire unmet?

Dear One, what is the fear which lies behind the stress you are feeling at this moment? Do not move away from this fear but embrace it and allow it to give you the answers required to move forward with grace. For your thoughts, your actions, are driven by one of two things, either fear or love. There is nothing else.

There are many names for these feelings that you have; jealousy, judgment, competition, anger and so on. But the root cause of these feelings is fear and only fear. The times of quiet which you find are only the beginning of the journey to allow that peace within to grow and flourish for you daily.

Keep in mind that this life of yours is lived in an illusion, created for and by you so that the lessons you chose to learn can be facilitated in the best way possible. Remember that all who cross your path are your teachers. Many of them invited by you in another time to be present on this plane to help you learn those lessons. These contracts were made in love, to be carried out in a physical existence for your personal growth.

However, due to free will, many plans go awry, perhaps with more harshness than was originally discussed. For this human existence carries its own sweet charm that can distract you from your purpose for being here. Lessons are still learned, despite these distractions, moving you forward upon your personal journey of self-discovery.

Dear One, this physical life is one of impermanence. This very moment in time with all that is before you may not be the same in the next breath that you take.  This provides opportunity to change in every moment of time, how you feel, what you think, and in what action you might take in re-action or response.

But it also means that every moment is sacred, never to offer the same opportunity again. Can you live each moment as if it were the last, for indeed, in a fashion it truly is the last? Can you begin to turn around your way of thinking and replace it with the feeling of love emanating from your heart? For your true essence, your true nature, resides in your heart connected in love to the Source of all creation.

You have come this far and survived.

Continue to move forward in grace,

Viewing your world through the lens of love

And not fear.

For love is who you are

And what comforts you the most.

For like attracts like.

Live in love

Forgive in love.

And remember the connection you have

With all of creation.

How Do You Remember?

Memories are flavored with emotion

And emotion can affect discernment.

Can you be sure that your memory of an event

Is exactly how it happened?

Dear One, there are so many things to consider when you reflect upon an event in your life. Did the emotional charge of the event affect the attempted communication at the time? What was your contribution; was it purely unemotional or did you add to the emotional charge with your actions?

Have you ever reflected upon a prior event and looked at it from another’s perspective? Can you distance yourself enough from what occurred to view it from a higher perspective? Are you able to see all points of view and the lessons for everyone involved?

Dear One, every person who crosses your path provides you with an opportunity for personal growth. Perhaps they remind you of another with whom you continue to have unresolved issues. In truth, your current reaction may have nothing to do with the one present in the moment, but with someone from your past.

Can you reflect upon past events and honestly look at how your actions affected the others involved? It is so easy to feel wronged or wounded or judgmental about others. And of course, you expect others to act in a way similar to how you would act. But, Dear One, take a step back and consider another’s place of origin, their place in the world.

Can you find enough compassion for another to reflect upon their point of view, their personal history and their wounded self? Can you see the Divine within all who cross your path? Just as you chose this life to learn certain lessons, so did all who are embodied at this time. In fact, many have, out of love for you, agreed to interact with you in a certain way when you crossed paths here upon this physical plane.

Human emotion is such a driving force and fear is one of the strongest emotions you feel as you inhabit these physical forms. For indeed, you are unable to see the web of connection, to remember the agreements made prior to incarnation for lessons to learn.

Step back a moment, breathe, and allow the emotion that rises from your belly to have its moment in time and then release it. This may take multiple attempts, but it is possible. Then focus upon your heart and find the love that resides there at all times. Awaken it, if you feel it has laid dormant within, and fill your entire being with its warm glow. Then send that love outward to all close and far. Blanket this world and beyond with the infinite amount of love that resides within you. For remember, that your heart is connected to the All, to the Source of limitless love.

As you continue to reflect and allow the emotion to dissipate, you will eventually reach a place of forgiveness, for yourself and the others involved. Upon continued reflection and growth, you may begin to understand the lesson involved for you or for another and see how each of you act as a catalyst for change for another. Over time, you will reach a point of gratitude for what occurred as you begin to see how it provided you with an opportunity for growth.

Remember, that change and growth often are the result of suffering. It may begin with love for another. And it can also end with love for each other, after the emotion has dissolved and the lesson is learned.

Dear One, this journey is for you. Others are in your life to help you along your path, just as you are here to help them. You may never realize the true nature of an event but have faith that it will always provide you with an opportunity for growth.

Be still and allow the compassion within to emerge

Compassion for yourself and for others.

For you all are here to help and guide each other forward.

Be gentle with yourself and with others

As you navigate this school of love.

Remember that love surrounds you.

Always.

Slowly the layers begin to peel away

Revealing the shining light within

Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis

Beauty is revealed.

Dear One, as you continue your path, you will begin the rebirth of your true nature. Fear not, for this event is not a sudden transformation. It is but a gentle transition from one who lives in fear to one who lives in love. And the world in all of its entirety begins to change around you as this process spreads across borders, across continents. Imagine a world awakening to love.

This is possible. It is already occurring. Quietly but steadily as more and more of you realize the failure of your old ways of thinking. ‘There must be something else’, you claim. And yes, there is the way of love and acceptance. It begins with an opening of your heart center to others and to your world.

Within each and every one of you is a radiant light, too magnificent to be detected by your physical eyes. For it vibrates at a higher frequency than can be seen by the physical body. It can be seen, however, in a meditative state as you raise your vibration through your breathing to connect with the unseen world.

By now, you must accept that there is much of the unseen world which surrounds you and affects you, even though your physical senses may not be able to detect it. Your intuition will tell you when much of these unseen events are occurring, be it a visitation from a loved one from the other side, or a feeling of love seemingly coming from nowhere.

You, Dear One, have the ability to be much more perceptive than you currently are, if you begin to view your life through the lens of love. Fear so clouds your judgment, your perception and encourages you to run around in a frenzy like a squirrel on the road in front of you. You have seen these creatures as you drive, scurrying here and there, trying to decide which side of the road would be the safest destination.

You are like this also, Dear One. First here, then there, unable to move calmly through your day, pulled in so many directions, you feel scattered and exhausted. What can you do to change this approach to your day?

First you breathe, feel your connection with the Mother by grounding yourself through the souls of your feet. You have been told this many times. If outside, remove your shoes and feel the gentle strength of the Mother who provides you a solid platform upon which to stand.

Then open your heart to the love of the Universe. If you are traveling to a destination, tell yourself that you are on your way and the timing will be perfect. If you are making a decision, give thanks for the guidance you are receiving and move forward with what your heart tells you to do. How many times have you chosen not to listen to your inner guidance, your gut feeling, and later had confirmation that following your intuition would have made for an easier path?

When you are having a difficult interaction with someone, send them love from your heart and see how the situation changes. If you are filled with emotion, allow yourself to calm down, before you speak or act or decide the next step to take. For intense emotion clouds your connection to your inner guidance.

Dear One, practice mindful movement throughout your day. Feel your feet connect with the Mother with each step you take. It will slow down your pace and allow you to move with more grace and calm. Trust that whatever you accomplish is enough. Perform every task with joy, giving it your full attention.

The emergence of your true nature can be helped with each and every one of these actions. If something does not feel right, then stop and reflect. Give yourself time to sit in peace. Tone every morning, with a melody, a note, or a verbal offering of gratitude for the new day.

Dear One, you are now beginning to live with a foot in both worlds. This is necessary for your forward movement. It can be challenging, but it is also a path to strengthening your connection to the All. And that connection provides you with the knowledge you need to move forward in love.

Love yourself and celebrate who you are

For you are so courageous

To be embodied at this time of change.

You are a conduit for this change

And you are learning your true nature,

That of love and connection to the All.

With every breath you take

Send love

To no one in particular

And allow it to permeate and encompass

The fear and hatred that fills the air.

Today this is a personal message from me, the scribe. Or perhaps I should say it is in my own words, for I am only relaying what I was told in a moment of utter despair.

The recent news has been so disturbing to me, what those in leadership roles are saying and doing, or not saying and doing. The climate of unrest and fear that is permeating our lives, permeating the very air we breathe and affecting us in ways we don’t even realize.

I spoke to a dear friend the other day, a woman who is model of compassion and kindness. She told me how she has this underlying feeling of anger that has caused her to react in a way very unlike her. And she was ashamed.

I too, have had this knot in my stomach which has settled in since the logging began behind my house 3 months ago. The timber has been cut, the beautiful hardwood trees that I talked with every day are gone and only giant matchsticks of unwanted timber remain scattered across 60 acres of wasteland. And although I am making peace with my immediate surroundings, the knot remains. And I’ve realized that I have become over-sensitized, as it now becomes inflamed when I hear what is going on in the world.

I went to bed two nights ago feeling sickened by what I heard on the news, the incitement of fear and hatred from someone who should know better. I couldn’t sleep. And then I heard the owl outside my window. It has moved closer recently because so many trees are now gone. And he was hooting in that rhythmic fashion, answering the call of a fellow owl further away. It calmed me in the same fashion the cooing of a dove does during the waking hours.

I felt the love coming from the owl and realized that Mother Nature was still alive and well. And that she had only love for me and us all. That no matter what we humans do on our circuitous paths back to our Source, that she was still there and sending me a message through that owl. I was lulled to sleep by the gentle lullaby of that dear owl.

The next morning, I sat cross-legged as I began my daily meditation. I began singing the tones as I often do before a verbal message comes through. This time my dog joined in as she sat directly in front of me, peering into my open mouth as I sang in full voice. I was asking in my mind, What can I do? How can I help? And the answer was simply, SEND LOVE.

It became very clear to me that what I can do, what we all can do, is to just send love with each breath we take. We don’t have to understand the reasons for these actions, we don’t have to judge. We just need to send love. For love is greater than fear and hatred and it will begin to encompass and overcome it. Imagine what would happen if more and more people do just that during their day. Notice your breath and send love.

I understand that many are not as consciously aware as I am of the shifts in energy that surround us every day. But we all are affected by this current climate of fear. Like my friend, it can affect our actions in ways we don’t even realize. Take responsibility, make amends if needed, but understand that we all have to raise ourselves higher, through this heaviness which affects us all.

Can you go on faith, that doing what I was told would make a difference in this world; that such a simple action can make such a tremendous difference? It can, I know it can and I encourage you to do so. Of course, if you feel called to take further action, follow your heart and do that. But so many feel helpless and overwhelmed in this current climate. And it is to you I say, Send love.

I’ll be back again in a few days with another message in the voice to which you have become accustomed to hearing. Thank you for being the sensitive souls you are. To you and to the world I send all my love.
